In 1865, when the winds of the American Civil War inexorably to the conclusion that the efforts of U.S. President Abraham Lincoln for the passage of the historic constitutional amendment that will always prohibit slavery in the United States. But his task is a race against time, peace can come at any time, and if it is before the amendment is adopted, the states of South recurrent stop before it can become law. Lincoln has for nearly all means, get enough votes from a recalcitrant Congress before peace comes, and it's too late. But the president is torn, as an early peace would save thousands of lives.
